Mumbai: Underage child registration and children will begin for the second phase pediatric test and third Covovax throughout the country, including in Nair Hospital in Mumbai, in the next few weeks.
Recombinant nanoparticle protein-based vaccines – NVX-COV2373 – developed by the American biotechnology company Novavax has branded Covovax in India.
This will be the fourth Covid vaccine to undergo clinical trials for children in India.
Indian Narcotics Control has provided a past for trials involving 920 minors in 10 locations in the country.
According to the design of the trial, the registration of children under the age of 12-17 will be done first, followed by those aged 2-11 years.
The Major Serum Institute Vaccine partnered with Novavax to launch Covovax for adults in India in September, and for minors at the end of this year.
