Mumbai: Dengue case when riding, imitating Covid

Mumbai: The case of dengue fever has increased sharply throughout the city, the doctor said, although BMC officially stated that only eight patients were diagnosed between 1 and 11 July.
The additional complications of the rainy season, is that some dengue patients have entered into the symptoms of cold, low cough and oxygen which are now identical to Covid-19.
Dr.
Om SriVastava disease specialist said people were related to dengue fever with white blood cells and platelets, but “we now have dengue fever patients with cough, cold and lower respiratory diseases”.
Instead of dengue’s symptoms have changed but Covid has changed us, said Dr.
Gautam Bhansali from a Bombay hospital near the new sea lane.
“People become very jelly, especially with coughing, coughing and blood oxygen.
All of these symptoms are part of most virus fever, both covid or dengue,” he said.
In 2019, 920 cases of dengue fever and three deaths were reported.
The figures fell to 129 cases and three deaths in 2020.
By 2021, 74 cases have been reported so far.
Dr.
Mandar Cubal from Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central, said the worst manifestation of dengue fever was the syndrome of acute respiratory pressure.
“We have seen dengue fever with lung involvement now, but the point is that now the rainy season is here, the doctor must suspect bloody to patients who come with shortness of breath, not only covid,” he said.
There are symptoms of “overlapping” between Covid-19 and dengue fever posing as a challenge, said Dr.
S p Kalantri from the Mahatma Gandhi Medical Institute of Medicine, Wardha.
“Usually, dengue fever patients come with high fever and back pain, but they now have third symptoms: cough and hypoxia.
Many of them in our hospital need mechanical ventilator,” he told toi.
As a result, most patients with alleged dengue fever also undergo a Covid-19 test first.
“After the report RT-PCR patients for Covid came negatively, we did a dengue test,” said Dr.
Kalantri.
In most hospitals and clinics, doctors advise patients to first undergo a RT-PCR test to rule out Covid-19.
Dr.
Pratit Samdani said three of every 10 cases of dengue fever needed hospitalization.
“The patients came with high-hearted and dehydration enzymes,” he said.
Dengue cases usually begin with monsoons when other diseases such as malaria, jaundice and typhus also begin to surge in cities such as Mumbai.
“We saw cases from Chawl and the address of Tony at the Nepean Sea Road.
We hope that cases continue to increase until September as well as dengue fever,” said Dr.
Shrivastav.
