Thane: Gas leakage from a tanker on the Mumbra-Panvar road in the Thana Maharashtra district caused panic and encouraged the authorities to stop the vehicle movement on the route for several hours on Thursday, a fire department said.
The leak was reported from a tanker carrying carbon dioxide in Kidvik Village on Taloja in the morning, officials said from the Kalamboli API station.
When receiving a warning at 11:45 a.m., firefighters rushed to the scene and plugged with the leak with the help of staff from the gas company, he said.
Although no one was injured in the incident, the traffic on the route was suspended for several hours, officially added.
