Haridwar / Mumbai: A 21-year-old student from Mumbai who was afraid of sinking along with two friends at Rishikesh would go to England for a higher study, and travel to Uttarakhand for “blessing” at the Kejarnath Shrine.
Madhushree Khursange, Melroy Dantes and the Kelkar Apoorva were pulled away by the strong flow of Ganga in Rishikesh on Wednesday afternoon.
The search for them continued on Thursday.
“Three teams of state disaster response (SDRF) and police divers were looking for Rishikesh to Haridwar because heavy rains hampered the effort,” said the police Tapovan Post In-Charge Anil Bhatt.
The search was called at night but will continue on Friday.
All three are students from Kandivli campus (e).
Station House Officer (muni-ki-reti) Kamal Mohan Singh Bhandari told Ti Khursange, whose father was a businessman, arranged to travel to England for a higher study.
The family member of his three reached Rishikesh on Thursday.
Student friends expressed surprises and distrust in Mumbai.
Khursange is a health coach and post on social media about eating properly and fitness.
He also posted extensively about his weight loss trips.
His post talked about how he suffered from a disease that made it fat, but a transformation reduced its weight with 30kg.
“Khursange is always positive and his energy shifts to others.
His transformation is extraordinary.
We call it safe,” said a friend.
