Mumbai: More than 80 police personnel conducted a 12-hour combing operation at the US Consulate in the Bandra-Kurla (BKC) complex which lasted until Wednesday afternoon after a security hose call.
However, no suspicious was found.
Mumbai Police spokesman, DCP S Chaitanya, then said it was a calling.
The caller has been traced to Ernakulam in Kerala.
The man, whose identity was not revealed by the police, had been ordered for criminal intimidation.
The police said the security officer received a call, which took place for a while, around 11:34 a.m.
on Tuesday.
“We have asked for voice notes to verify the right communication.
Prima Facie, callers say there is a security hose at the consulate.
He also said security personnel did not do anything except for eating and collecting salaries’,” said an officer at the BKC Police Station , The consulate has been asked to verify whether the caller’s visa application has been rejected in recent months.
ATS, Crime Branch, Special Branch, Disposal Bomb & Squad Detection, SRPF, BKC Police and Reserve Police are pressed into action.
