Mumbai: Entrepreneurs from Vile Parle were tricked by Rs 3 Lakh after placing ads that wanted to rent flats.
The 61-year-old complainant received a call, on January 13, from fraudsters who identified themselves as the Force Security Industrial Central (CISF) personnel and showed interest in the flats.
The man agreed to pay a deposit of Rs 1 Lakh and Rs 30,000 rent.
Fraudsters say that he wants the flat because he wants to make his children treated at school in the city after being transferred to Pune where he will be posted, said the PARLE PARLE.
Believe a cheater, the complainant follows the instructions given to him to download the application to complete the transfer of funds.
“The complainant shares a password once after downloading the application.
Some fund transfers are made from their bank account.” Scamster claimed that he was a CISF official and posted in Hyderabad and had been transferred to Pune.
We have searched for bank details from the account credited by money from a complainant account, “said a police officer.
The complainant realized that he was being cheated when he saw several transaction warnings he received.
This case was registered on February 11 based on written complaints.
