Mumbai: Mumbai reported 279 positive cases of new Coronavirus and seven deaths on Thursday, took Caseload to 7,38,522 and the fatality was considered 15,975, a citizenship official said.
It was for the fourth day in a row and for the sixth time in August that the number of daily infections remained under 300-mark, said BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials.
Daily death count in the city also remains below 10 for consecutive eleventh days.
The country’s financial capital witnessed a marginal decline in the case and everyday death of Covid-19 compared to Wednesday, when it reported 289 cases and nine deaths.
As 36,168 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, the number of cumulative tests of the city reached 85.43,032, the official said.
With 242 patients restored, the number of metropolis recovery rose to 7.17,191.
The rate of recovery of Covid-19 the average city is 97 percent, the official said, added that currently it has 2,928 active cases.
The doubling of the Mumbai case increased to 1,819 days, while the growth rate for the period between August 5 and 11 reached 0.04 percent, the official said.
There are only two detention zones in Mumbai at this time and the number of buildings that have been sealed to break the chain of viruses has dropped to 31 now, he added.
On April 4 this year, Mumbai has reported the highest number of 11,163 cases everyday, while the highest amount of fatality is recorded on May 1.
