Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Thursday caught a man from Gujarat in connection with the seizure of 700 grams of Heroin worth Rs 4 Crore from the cargo complex near Mumbai airport, an official said.
NCB Zonal Unit has received specific information about drug smuggling in parcels at the International Courier Terminal in Sahar on the outskirts of Mumbai, he said.
Thus, the search was conducted in the conference hall in the complex on Monday, where NCB Dehuth found 700 grams of white powder in one package, which was intended to be a heroin whose value was estimated at around Rs 4 Crore in the Illegal Market, official said.
A case under registered narcotics and psychotropic substances (NDPS) and package receivers, Krishna Murari Prasad, a resident of Vadodara, was called to record his statement at the NCB office in Mumbai on Thursday, he said.
After Prasad’s interrogation occupied was arrested, the official said, added further investigation into progress.
