Mumbai: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mumbai Monorail for allegedly demanding RS 20 Lakh bribes to clear the Bill of a private company that provides services at the monorail.
The Mumbai ACB unit posted DLN Murthy, a first-class ranking officer under various parts of the Prevention of the Corruption Court.
ACB said that they had not arrested Murthy but on Tuesday searched for his home to track evidence against him.
Murthy was the second-class ranking officer who would be ordered after ACB arrested the head of the Aarey Nathu Rathod executive officer, in May this year, and his subordinates to demand and accept RS 50,000 bribes from the residents of slums.
Then ACB confiscated Hospital 3.46 crores in countless cash from his house.
Complainants are a facility management company that has taken housekeeping contracts, customer care services and other maintenance work from Mumbai Monorail from January 2019 to August 2020.
The contract has ended in August 2020 and Mumbai Monorail is paying a large number of Rs 2.5 crores and restores bank guarantees Rs 32 lakhs.
The complainant company has requested Mumbai Monorail to clean up their contributions, but Murthy allegedly postponed and after several follow-up, a number of Rs 2.1 Crores and Rs 22 Lakh as a bank warranty cleaned.
The complainant then approached Murthy and demanded the amount of balance, which Murthy asked a number of Rs 20 Lakh as a commission.
The complainant company approached ACB and filed a complaint against Murthy, said ACP ALKA DESHMUKH (ACB).
The ACB team sent Mandiri Witnesses who confirmed that Murthy demanded money.
ACB through a complainant trying to repair the date to put a trap but the source said that Murthy smelled of mice and began to avoid the complainant.
