Mumbai: With a place of worship that was opened on Thursday, city mosques and iconic Sufi temples such as Haji Ali and Dargah Mahim made their own preparations, which included regulating halal (non-alcoholic) sanitaryers for worshipers.
Islam prohibits the use of alcohol.
Halal sanitis used by this temple will contain hydrogen peroxide and colloidal silver.
“We will ensure that the SOP issued by the government meets.
We will also maintain halal or non-alcoholic sanitaryers for worshipers,” said Sohail Khandwani, managing the Mahim Dargah Trustee and the Trustee of Haji Ali Dargah.
He added that no worshipers would be permitted in the temple without facial masks, and social distance would be strictly maintained.
Both at Haji Ali and Mahim Dargahs, separate queues for men and women will be formed for better crowd management.
Shoeb Khatib, President Juma Mosque from Bombay Trust, who manages both Juma Mosque near Crawford and Bada Kabrastan Market on Linine Lines, said that the whole body disinfection machine was installed at the entrance to the iconic mosque.
“No one will be allowed to enter the mosque without fully dissed.
We will follow all the protocols that have been issued by the government,” he said.
While 30 to 35 people will be allowed to enter the Dargah Mahim at a time, in mosques, social distance will be maintained between worshipers on the prayer mat.
“On the prayer mat, adequate space among worshipers will remain empty,” explained Khatib.
Permit to reopen the place of worship came after the period of the old financial crisis, because contributions had dried in the past two years.
Mosque and Dargah walked mainly on donations, but Khandwani said that even regular donors had limited donations substantially when their business was very affected during locking.
