Mumbai: Unknown people left a newborn baby in Jogeshwari (East) on Thursday night.
The baby was found wrapped with a piece of cloth and lived when a pedestrian in Shyam Nagar watched and told the police.
Newborn babies are saved before deviating.
Police Meghwadi reached a place after the locals call the police control space ‘100’ emergency number and take babies to the hospital for medical examinations.
Zonal DCP Maheshwar Reddy has formed a team to track people who leave newborns.
“A case is below section 317 (exposure and neglect of children) against unknown people,” said Senior Police Leader Meghwadi Sanjay Pimple.

Meanwhile, the police team also through hospitals to get details of those delivered in the last 24 hours.
