Mumbai: BMC has called a drive vaccination for Thursday and Friday due to lack of doses.
This will be the closing of both public vaccinations in a week because the encouragement was suspended last Thursday and Friday.
Dr.
Mangala Gomare, BMC executive health worker, said the country had convinced several doses to arrive on Thursday night, which will be distributed on Friday.
The drive will be continued on Saturday, he said.
On Wednesday, the number of vaccinations fell to 85,418 after two days back-to-back from one lakh-plus shot.
Interestingly, private vaccination centers witnessed an increase in demand for Kovagin, mostly due to a shorter gap between the dose.
“People who walk always ask for Covaxin first.
Linking from a train trip with full vaccination can drive demand even more expensive,” said Dr.
Prince Surana, CEO of the Surana Hospital group.
Two Covishield shots cost Rs 1,560 privately and Covaxin to RS 2,800.
The Head of the Malad Hospital said the Covaxin supply has increased over the past few weeks.
Of the 82.4 doses of lakh given in Mumbai, 76.1 lakh is a covishield, 6 lakh is covaxin and 24,830 is sputnik.
Gomare said they got around 20,000-30,000 covaxin doses, which were mostly set aside for the second dose.
“Also, priority is given to the special segment, like the person ridden by the bed that has been suggested by Covaxin,” he said.
Under CSR, H N / Reliance has been committed to 3 doses of lakh covaxin, he added.
