Mumbai / Thane: Individual Police Station issued a notification and called Pathak Govinda, warned them about preventive arrests and punishment if they opposed the state ban on Handi’s forehead.
Some Mandal Handi Dahi has hinted that they would continue with the human pyramid at the Gokulakulami Festival Tuesday even though there was a covid limit.
Officers at the Byculla police station confirmed that they had sent a notification to Tadwadi Govinda Pathak, warned them to follow the state guidelines.
Police Jogeshwari both warned Jai Jawan Govinda Mandal against violations of law.
“The smaller mandal lay low because they don’t want to take the risk of the police.
Their members are professionals who work who are not able to engage in police cases, just as they continue their livelihood after the kuncian,” said a mandal spokesman.
The bigger team also did not reveal their plan for Tuesday but said they would “do something to celebrate”.
The focus of the brigade was led by MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) which openly acknowledged that it would oppose the state ban on Gokulakulam by uniting Handi Dahi’s program.
The party has been networking with a disadvantaged mandal that is annoyed at cancellations.
On Sunday the leader of MNS Bala Nandgaonkar visited land in Thane to assess preparation.
Palghar District President MNS Avinash Jadhav said they would “advance” with their Handi’s forehead plan on schedule.
He said more than 40 mandals had been registered for the event.
“If BJP can hold a large demonstration, Shiv Sena can protest stage, why can’t we celebrate Janmashtami?” Jadhav said.
Mandal questioned the state permit for Ganeshotsav which lasted 11 days, denying them their one day festival.
When the State Health Duty Unit shows that Handi’s forehead is a sport of contact involving a number of participants, the mandal asks permission for members who are fully vaccinated to indulgence.
