Mumbai: A pregnant woman allegedly died in a civilian maternity house at Mg Road at Mulund because there was no doctor to take care of him on Monday night.
BJP MLA from Mulund, Mihir Kotecha, filed a complaint to the police Mulund, looking for fire for negligence against the hospital and urged BMC to conduct an investigation.
AAP held a BMC responsible for criminal negligence.
Support City Commissioner Suresh Kakani said according to the preliminary probe, the 26-year-old patient suffered a fever for two days when he came to consult at MT Aggarwal Hospital on September 26.
He suggested blood investigations and symptomatic treatment given.
He was treated at a mulund maternity hospital on September 27.
Civic officials said he was treated and blood investigations were sent.
While the fever subsided, he got a loose movement around 7pm, so the doctor decided to shift him to the Savarkar hospital.
Civil officials said his relatives could not be contacted.
They then want to move it to Nair, but back relatives “cannot be reached”.
He shifted to the Savarkar ICU hospital, but his condition deteriorated.
He died at 3.22 in the morning.
