Mumbai: Prevalence of Antibodies at 86.64%

Mumbai: The fifth city of Sero-survey, conducted between August 8 and September 9, has demonstrated the high prevalence of antibodies, with 86.64 percent of 8,000-plus learning citizens that showed Covid-19 exposure.
About 65 percent of those surveyed had taken one or both vaccines while 90.26 percent of them had developed antibodies.
Among the remaining (35 percent) were not vaccinated, 79.86 percent had antibodies.
Unlike the last survey, the difference in the prevalence between slums (87.02) and non-slum (86.22 percent) the bag in this survey was ignored.
There are marginal differences in sero-prevalence wise gender, with women showing 88.29 percent sero-prevalence compared to men (85.07 percent).
However, BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) The doctor issued a warning that the results did not show the level of protection of IgG antibodies so that people had to observe the appropriate Covid behavior.
The additional city of Commissioner Suresh Kakani said that they positively saw the results of the survey sero but they did not let the guard down them.
“We feel that if people do not follow the appropriate Covid behavior, they can still be infected, even if symptoms may be moderate or mild.
Therefore, people must continue to wash their hands, wear masks and observe social distance,” Kakani said, adding that wrong One factor that might have caused the prevalence of being ignored between slum and slums, it could be a high number of people in buildings that have been vaccinated.
“As a sero-prevalence among those who are vaccinated much higher than colleagues who are not vaccinated, it is important to strengthen on the Covid-19 vaccination program,” BMC said in a statement issued.
Congress MLA Amin Patel said that one reason for this high level of antibodies could be the fact that people today were not reluctant to take the vaccine again.
“Also in the high-density area people can see that the number of Covid-19 cases is less and also in case there is a positive case, the patient does not need to be hospitalized,” Patel said.
But Kandivali Mla Yogesh Sagar said that the sample size was too small.
“For more than one crore population, the sample size of 8,000 may not provide a correct picture.
But one thing is clear that the city is currently mentally ready to face the third wave after going through two waves and also the vaccination round,” he said.
