Mumbai recorded the donation of the first organ this year

Mumbai: The city recorded his first organ donation this year when the family of a 52-year-old woman agreed to contribute its organs.
After falling in 2020, organ contributions recovered to a certain extent last year when 33 deadly contributions were realized.
Incidentally, the state government has formed a 20 member assignment unit to increase organ donation rates in Maharashtra further.
The Zon Transplant Coordination Committee (ZTCC), which distributes the corpse organ between the transplant center, says that the liver donor can be transplanted.
The kidneys, heart and lungs are medically not feasible for donations.
Donation of the corpse was facilitated by the Apollo Hospital in Navi Mumbai.
Dr.
Mathur, the ZTCC President, who is also part of the task force now, said that before Pandemic, Maharashtra did around 160 donations.
“If all systems and institutions participate, we can certainly push that number much higher,” he said.
He added that Taskforce would analyze why the existing NTORC could not provide and help them improve.
