Mumbai: Mumbai on Saturday (June 12) reported a slight jump in the number of fresh coronavirus cases as 733 persons tested positive for COVID-19, as compared to 696 the previous day.
The cumulative case count of the Maximum City has now surged to 7,15,879.
However, there was a drop in the number of fatalities as 18 patients succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll to 15,164.
As many as 732 patients got cured of the infection completely in the past 24 hours.
With that, the total number of recoveries have mounted to 6,82,678.
The financial capital is now left with 15,798 active cases.
A total of 26,174 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the day, and so far, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has carried out a whopping 65,90,371 tests in all.
The recovery rate of Mumbai has gone up to 95 per cent, while the overall growth rate from June 5 to June 11 is just 0.11 per cent.
The doubling rate of the city is now 633 days.
At present, there are 21 active containment zones (slums and chawls) in the city, while 95 buildings have been sealed due to COVID-19 cases being reported from them.
