Mumbai: RT-PCR tests must be for these travelers

Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced Wednesday that passengers come from certain countries including Britain, Middle East and China, must undergo a compulsory RT-PCR test at the international airport here, starting 3.
The passenger said or transit through England Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand and Zimbabwe have to undergo RT-PCR tests paid after they land at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Other passengers (not including the countries above), who have to get out of the airport or the board that connects flights, must show RT-PCR negative reports carried out within 72 hours since their trip, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated.
“The RT-PCR test will not be mandatory for the passenger on arrival at Mumbai airport from 12 o’clock in the morning on September 3,” he said.
All passengers must submit their forms and declaration efforts to the officers deployed at the airport and have to undergo a 14-day quarantine house.
Further civil body states that steps are being taken based on central guidelines due to detection of more transmissions Coronavirus variants.
The airport operator has made arrangements to carry out RT-PCR tests and registrations at the airport, where passengers must pay Rs 600, the release is stated, adding the airport can carry out 600 tests per day.
