Three suspects were caught at Andheri Station before they could do a sophisticated Crimean camera at Andheri station giving a railroad protection personnel (RPF) in their fight against crime along with showing that the incident had recently been.
On July 28, 2021, the Employee Protection of Railway Protection (RPF) Western Railway watched a suspicious person in the supervision of CCTV roaming around the gate of the west side of Andheri Station.
He immediately told the staff on duty.
The man’s movement was observed tightly and turned out to be suspicious.
Because it was asked as a reason to roam at the station for a long time, he failed to give a satisfying answer.
After that, he was taken to the office of RPF, Andheri, where he revealed his name as Sameer Abdul Khan.
Khan, 20, a resident of Andheri West, admitted that his intention was to do theft.
He also claimed to steal passenger wallets last month on the platform 4 from the Parle Vile station.
After verifying his statement, it was found that the case of theft was registered against it on June 23, 2021 by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
After that, the defendant was handed over to Andheri GRP for further legal action.
This is not the first case of its type.
On July 2, other people were found hanging around Andheri Station.
The defendant was later identified as Rahul Amritlal, 22, resident of Bhayandar.
He was arrested by RPF through CCTV supervision.
During the direct monitoring of CCTV cameras, it is noted that amritlal roams the station that seems accidentally.
His movements are suspicious.
During a preliminary investigation, he failed to provide satisfying answers, and it was found that he was a history-sheeter who was famous for his previous criminal records.
Nine cases of theft and robbery under the IPC and three cases under the Mumbai police law registered against it at various GRP police stations from the suburbs.
A senior officer WR said that CCTV cameras were proven to be useful for RPF not only at Andheri Station but also on several other stations.
“New cameras or not only produce clearer images but also remind our security staff through various features,” said an official WR, added that 24 cases of passenger goods theft was detected through CCTV supervision in recent months.
Of this amount, in three cases the defendant can be stopped from committing crimes on time.
In one case like that, the defendant was a criminal habit that had several cases of theft and robbery registered against him.
Thus, CCTV supervision helps not only in crime detection but also prevent crime.
CCTV cameras in most of the suburban stations of the city wrist recently replaced with sophisticated cameras.
These cameras are not only able to recur the faces of the perpetrators but can also remind train officials in cases of density on the platform and legs on the bridge.
In addition, new cameras can capture facial images from direct CCTV video bait and generate warnings.
If the perpetrator’s match is a black list found, a warning will be pushed into the control room.
The new system can also work on partial facial occlusion, glasses, scarves, changes in facial expressions.
This camera can also work on moderate facial rotation, both horizontal and vertical.
These new cameras not only help security officials to arrest criminals but also help track missing people.
“The new system has been planned according to the needs of the security department.
CCTV camera video feed provided at the station was brought to the POS RPF concerned.
At these posts, there are direct CCTV monitoring facilities,” said an official.
