Mumbai: Stolen ‘Gold’ turns out to be an imitation jewelry

Mumbai: Four gangs allegedly robbed and tried to strangle an old woman at Byculla’s house on Monday was arrested near a letter in less than 24 hours.
Two gangs had stolen Bangles that the woman used at the time.
Police said they had restored these bracelets which were imitation jewelry.
Around 9 o’clock in the morning, Monday, two men entered the house, Mithibai Makwana (78) at the Central Railway Compound, by asking him to drink a glass of water.
When the woman went to get water, both – Zakir Shaikh (26) and Raes Shaikh (29) – entered the house, biting him and grabbed the “golden” bracelet he was wearing and escaping, leaving him with an injury.
A criminal violation was submitted at the Byculla police station.
Two men and their hands – Manali Bedwewala (31) and her friend Rahul Singh Khandelwal (27) – has been arrested.
The four comes from Bharuch Town in Gujarat.
A car owned by Khanelwal, used in crime, has also been confiscated, police said.
Senior Inspector Ashok Khot formed a team consisting of officers Suhas Mane, Rupesh Patil, Dattatray Jadhav, Dnyaneshwar Kharmate and Patole to accuse.
While scanning CCTV recordings from the nearest location, the police pay attention to the car near the crime.
This car was used by the suspects to escape from there.
“Bedwewala wore a black burqa to avoid identified.
Zakir and Raes have entered the house while Bedwewala struck them, talking to them on the phone and guiding them to the woman’s house,” said an officer.
Bedwewala used to stay in the previous central train compound and recognize the woman’s residence, police said.
It was Khandelwal related to Zakir and Raes and convinced them to do the work.
Fourth came with a car from Bharuch and reached Mumbai around 5am.
“They recce from the locality three before carrying out robbery,” said an officer.
After the police got a car number, they found a cellphone number Khandelwal and a scanned call record.
The location shows that the car moved towards Gujarat.
“We contacted the Gujarat police and asked for help.
We intercept the car near the checkpoint.
Bangles are stolen, which they think are gold, have recovered.
It is an imitation jewelry,” said a police officer.
