Letter: A 20-year-old Mumbai student face Double Whammy on his recent visit to his cousin in the city of Pandesara.
Not only was the man’s cellphone stolen but the thief also transferred Rs 75,000 through the money transfer application installed on the phone.
According to the police, Suraj Yadav, a 12th grade student who lives in Mumbai, visited his cousin Ashish Kumar Yadav, a resident of Vinayak Nagar Society in Pandesara, for several days in October.
On October 25 Suraj and his cousin keep their cellphones near the window open from home and go to bed around 10:30 a.m.
The next morning they were surprised to find their cellphone stolen.
When Suraj told his father about cellular theft, it was revealed that Rs 75,230 was transferred to an unknown account through the money transfer application.
Suarj has installed the application, which is associated with his father’s bank account, on his cellphone.
Immediately after that Suraj approached the Pandesara Police Station and submitted an application about cellular theft and money transfer incident.
On Tuesday, official complaints about crime and police began further investigation.
