Mumbai: Four years after NAAC’s ranking (National Accreditation and Assessment Council) ended, Mumbai University was finally accredited with A ++ on Tuesday morning.
With the average cumulative point of 3.65, MU became the best ranking state university in the state.
Savitribai Phule Pune University was rated a + with CGPA 3.6 in 2017 and the University of Shivaji Kolhapur has recently pocketed a rating of A ++ with 3.52 CGPA in the state.
MU increases its ranking from CGPA 3.05 and the value of ‘A’ which is awarded by NAAC in 2012.
The rating has ended on April 20, 2017.
Baliram Gaikwad’s university registrar confirmed the news on Tuesday afternoon.

Administration has worked hard to compile academic data for the past three years for the SSR (SSR) study and is awaiting a visit to the NAAC colleague’s team to be examined.

The visit was delayed twice because the second wave of pandemic, after the university submitted an SSR in 2020.
Team colleagues assessed the university with seven parameters, ranging from learning, infrastructure, research, governance and curricular aspects.
Ranking A ++ NAAC will help lift the image of the whole university in the prospective circles and students today, parents and even employers.
