Mumbai: Vax center to have a splinter angle for pregnant women

Mumbai: Mumbai Civic Corporation will offer vaccination for pregnant women in limited centers starting Monday.
The state has instructed all districts to launch vaccinations for pregnant women next week after the recent nod on July 2 at 2.
More than 20 women will be eligible for vaccination in the state, including 1.5Ekh in Mumbai.
BMC has decided to open the drive in medical colleges, pregnant homes and peripheral hospitals that handle labor.
Dr.
Mangala Gomare, BMC executive health worker, said 25-30 centers had been identified.
Based on the response, the corporation will add more, he said.
On Thursday, the State Immunization Department held a training session on the corner of counseling, seating and separate queue for vaccination.
Hospitals, clinics and maternity houses, visited by women for examination, will be defeated as counseling centers.
“Counseling is the most important key here.
We have decided that the places visited by women for regular antenatal examinations will advise and tell them about the risks and benefits of vaccination.
After being paid, they can go to vaccination centers.
We will provide Education material to places like that, “said Dr.
Dilip Patil, head of the country’s immunization.
The center said pregnant women were given information needed to make “information choices”.
For pregnant women who might immediately land at the vaccination center, said Dr.
Gomare, the centers will put experienced staff.
