Mumbai: When heavy rains attack Metropolis on Sundays, the water supply throughout Mumbai is announced to be suspended until further notice.
It happened as a result of heavy rains that hit the power supply in the Bhandup Water Complex – the largest water treatment plant in the city.
BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) told that the city water supply would be restored only after electricity returned in the Bhandup complex.
The Civic body has asked Milmaikars to use water saving until the supply supply is fully restored.
Meanwhile, the power outage has been reported in various parts of the city including cooaba, bandra, Kurla, Malad, Kandivali, Ghatkopar, Mahalaxmi, Sewri, Wadala and Mumbai Central.
Rain, which starts after midnight, continues to stop and cause water to move or flood in some areas of lying low Mumbai.
Also, as many as 25 people have been killed in more than 10 different incidents throughout the city when the rain brings Havoc on Sunday.
At least 17 people were killed when a wall collapsed after the tree fell in Vashi Naka, New Bharat Nagar in the Chembur area around 1am.
In another incident, at least 3 people were killed when several hutments surrendered to Suryanagar slums at Vikhroli East.
