Mumbai: A retired 77-year-old retired man from a South Mumbai Art School became the latest victim of ‘Sextital’, after a woman repeatedly followed it online, making a video call to her while posing naked and then threatened to make the call-call recording public and submit a rape case against it.
The victim, a resident of Khar (West), filed a case at the Khar Police Station on November 17 after the repetitive call from the woman for more than a week.
The former principal, who has retired in 2002, used social media to stay in touch with students and to post stories related to art.
On November 10, the woman sent her friend request on Facebook, but she did not accept because she did not know him.
In his complaint, senior citizens said, “The woman sent a message that he was hired in the beauty room of beauty and wanted to talk to me.
But I did not accept his friend’s request.” He then posted his contacts on his page and said he wanted to immediately speak.
“Thinking it was important, the victim also shared his number.
The next two days, the woman continued to send a message to him, but he did not answer,” said an officer from Khar police.
On November 12, he got a video call WhatsApp and found the woman pose naked.
“He immediately cut off the call.
Two days later, he insisted that he transferred Rs 249 to refill his cellphone,” police said.
The woman repeated two to three times, before claiming that she had noted it enjoying her nude video call.
He threatened to share videos with his wife and children and submitted the wrong rape case against him if he cut his call, police said.
“We get the help of cyber cells in tracking the address of the Internet (IP) protocol from women who threaten it and try to squeeze money after repeatedly stalking them on social media,” said an officer from the Khar police station.
