New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided several locations in the National Capital Region in connection with the probe related to the new seizure of 2,988 kg of heroin in Port Mundra Gujarat, said an official said.
Searches are being made in five locations in Delhi and Noida.
The federal body earlier this month took over the case of the Intelligence Directorate of Revenue (DRI) on the direction of the UNI home ministry and registered a criminal complaint in several parts of drugs from narcotics and laws of psychotropic substances and prevention laws that violated law (UPA).
Raids was carried out by Nia immediately after filing a case too.
This case is related to the seizure of 2,988.21 kg of narcotics (heroin) in the port of Mundra and the involvement of foreign citizens in the procurement and delivery of delivery, said Nia official.
On September 13, Dri detained two containers who had arrived at Port Mundra from Kandahar in Afghanistan through Abbas Port of Iran.
The declaration that accompanies the container claims they have a “semi-processed stone”.
However, the thorough examination has determined that two containers actually contain 2,988 kg of Heroin worth 21,000 crore, which is hidden in the “bottom layer” of the “jumbo bag” topped with Talk Stone, the official release said.
DRI has captured eight people, including five foreign nationals, in connection with the seizure of drug searches then by Nia in Chennai, Coimbatore and Vijayawada at the defendant’s place.
