Guwahati: Gauhati Municipal Corporation (GMC) will issue a notification to 36 private hospitals, who have carried out construction without the civic body permission and thus avoided city tax, for the three broth immediately asking them to submit a residential certificate.
Commissioner GMC Devasish Sharma said the body of the Civic has faced income income deficit due to tax evasion with not only private hospitals but also other companies or individuals.
GMC currently produces only around RS 10 Crore Revenue a month.
The income obtained is around Rs 14 Crore at pre-pandemic time.
The Civic body has served a notification to a total of 66 private hospitals where 30 have submitted their residential certificates examined by GMC.
The GMC commissioner said the 30-hospital residential certificate that had submitted a “unsatisfactory” residential certificate.
Residential certificates stated that building construction had fulfilled the approved plan.
It was issued by the local city authority or the building proposal department as soon as the building was finished and ready to be occupied.
Simply put, without OC, your building has not been awarded “Pass Certificate”.
