Mural Art Add Charm to Ukkadam Housing Unit

Coimbatore: The four walls of the giant housing unit of the Urban Habitat Development Board of Tamil Nadu in Ukkadam now adorn the mural art, which has beautified the colony stated by the environment and a pile of garbage stored badly.
A woman who bought vegetables from a grocery store, a goat kid up the stairs, a child playing with tricycle in his house, a cow who sleeps under the stairs and children playing together are some of the mural art served, a group of artists from Kerala done on the wall.
This is part of the initiative of the ‘Art District’ Ukkadam which is being carried out together by the St + Art India Foundation, City Corporation and Asia Cat.
Mural art was recently created by Jinil Manikandan, Arjun Gopi, Pranaav Prabhakar and Sijoy Paulose from Kerala.
They need 25 days to complete work.
However, the first four days, spent visiting houses, interact with residents and recognize their routines and the most loved things in their homes.
Jinil Manikandan, a 26-year-old artist from Chalakudi in Kerala, said they did not have the ideas formed before.
“When we interacted with people, they said it was fun for them to be locked up in homes during locking, because it gave them more time to interact with neighbors and share mild moments.
We want our work to reflect how they spend how they spend They are in their small homes.
“One of the artworks they had a local Aishwariya child, who stood against his alcohol father, tried to protect his brother and mother.
The left side wall on Block 10 describes the picture.
Apart from intruders, artists from various parts of the country are involved in the project.
S Akmal, project manager assistant, St + Art India, said five walls taken this time and painting murals at four of them was ready.
Trivendra Krishna, an artist who taught himself from Nainital, was doing the last wall.
He is in the process of describing coimbatore as a migrant place.
Last year, four walls were taken under the project.
