Kanpur: A man reached the police station colonelanj with a turmeric scarf on his shoulder in Kanpur on Wednesday and alleged that he was brutally attacked by members of his community when he expressed his desire to adopt Hinduism as a religion.
A video of a man who made accusations of being viral on social media, where Aslam could be heard told the police, “Sir, I don’t want to live as a jihad.” After listening to his words, the police were stunned, while some people also made the man’s video.
Although police officers call it “mentally ill,” the man stated that he wanted to adopt Hinduism.
He also accused the people of Assault’s religion, where the police had started an investigation.
“On Tuesday, a man of a lot of bloody from his head, reached the Colonelanj police station with a turmeric scarf on his shoulder and claimed that when he wanted to enter from Islam to Hinduism, but the people from his religion were angry, and had defeated him,” Police said.
He told the police that his name was Aslam.
When asked why he wanted to be a Hindu, he replied that he did not want to live as a ‘jihad’.
He also threatened that if he was stopped from the conversion, he would leave the area and go somewhere else.
The additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Colonelanj Tripurari Pandey said that the NCR (report cannot be recognizable) has been registered with the man’s complaint.
“The mental condition of the man seems unwell, and at this time the police are investigating this problem,” ACP added.
