Ranchi: Head of the Jharkhand Minister Hemant Soren on Friday begged the opposition leaders to jointly demand that the center declare the Covid-19 pandemic as a national disaster and provide financial compensation to families who lose viral infections.
“It is beyond understanding why the center does not declare Covid-19 as a national disaster until now.
We all have to raise this request.
Relatives of the deceased must be compensated,” Soren appealed to the online meeting of the national opposition leaders, including the national president Congress Sonia Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh, Cm Bengal, Mamarashtra and Tamil Nadu, Uddhav Thackerjee, and MK Stalin.
The meeting was also attended by CPI (M) Sitaram Yechury Secretary General, Head of National Conference of Farooq Abdullah and former president of the Rahul Gandhi Congress.
Soren was invited to a virtual meeting organized by Sonia as part of the efforts of the Congress Party to form the National Coalition of opposition parties to take BJP.
He also said, “The union government is refreshing democracy and misleading the country’s people.
MPS is not heard in parliament, which is a striking example of choking on democracy.
Opposition unity must be stronger and meetings like this must be often held.
There are various problems where the center It can be cornered and BJP has taken several decisions that are not for the benefit of people in the country and globally, “he said.
Mapping the opposition, Soren further said the opposition must unite to corner the BJP government on the issue of agricultural law, unemployment and inflation.
“The center failed to manage Covid-19 vaccination and failed transparent with the state government,” he added.
