London: England Pacer Chris Woakes said it would be very difficult to play in three back-to-back tournaments so he chose the T20 World Cup and the ash series in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Woakes, who played for the capital Delhi at IPL, came out of the popular T20 league and rich in cash along with compatriot Jonny Bairstow (Sunrisers Hyderabad) and Dawid Malan (Punjab Kings).
“My inclusion in the World Cup squad, I did not know it would happen – especially a few months ago.
IPL has been rescheduled and thrown to the end of our summer,” Woakes said as quoted by ‘The Guardian’.
“With the World Cup and Abu, it will be too much in a short time.
I would love to have been part of the IPL but something must give,” Woakes, who will play for Warwickshire this week, said.
Woakes said the T20 World Cup began to begin in UAE and Oman after the conclusion of the IPL, and the ash series carried a significance of no less than the British summer of 2019.
“World Cup and tour of ash, almost as large as winter because our summer is in 2019 .
It’s embarrassing about what happens wisely that it won’t be as everyone wants Expected strict restrictions.
It is hoped that Australia will not allow players with their families on the tour.
