Muzaffarnagar: The local court has released four accused in the case of Muzaffarnagar riots due to lack of evidence.
On September 28, 2013, Naeem and his two brothers, Nadam and Shaukat, the residents of Phugana Village have submitted a case at the Phugana Police Station who accused “Yogendra, Nitin Guddu and Visal, along with dozens of other people” attacked their homes in September 8 .
Naeem stated in his complaint that “the attackers were equipped with firearms and sharp-edged weapons,” and that they attacked him and his family.
He also said that they were “searched our homes and looted more than three lakh rupees, which they burned.” Defense lawyer Sohrab Singh said, “The widespread and the two brothers, who were witnesses in the case of riots, turned hostile and the defendant was released.” In October last year, the local court had released 20 men due to lack of evidence.
In December, five others were released.
