Patna: At least three criminals and two policemen were injured at a meeting between them near Sahmalwa in Phulwaria under the Baruraj police station in Muzaffarpur district on Sunday.
The meeting occurred after a criminal attempt failed to carry out a robbery at the fuel station.
The injured criminals were treated at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital.
Apart from the three injured criminals, the police arrested five more criminals.
However, two criminals managed to escape.
Muzaffarpur SSP Jayant Kant said at least 20 rounds of fire was exchanged between police and criminals.
“The situation in the area is under control now,” Kant added.
The police confiscated five pistols, four-wheeled and motorbikes from the place.
