King Kumar tried everything he could save his father and took him home happy and healthy.
But his father developed a health complication one after another post was infected with Covid-19.
This is the story …
I never expected my father to leave the world so early and so much pain.
The last days of his life were too much for him to be handled.
It all started when he was tested by Covid-19 positive.
As soon as he was confirmed to become a positive covid, we began his treatment at home but because of serious infection, we had to shift him to the hospital.
After staying a few days in the ICU we showed a sign of recovery and then shifted to a normal environment where he was treated because of a sinus infection.
Things become complex when he develops mukormycosis, fungal infections detected in most cases of Covid during the second wave.
I tried hard to get Amphotericin B medicine, which helped him recover from the fungal infection, but his condition only became the worst over time.
During treatment, he developed shortness of breath suddenly.
The doctor said it was a lung fibrosis.
For treatment, he again shifted to the ICU with the support of the oxygen machine bipap.
For almost 5 days he lived there without signs of improvement.
With time that began to look weaker and his voice sounded low.
The doctor told us that my father needed to stay in the ICU for several months for recovery.
Until now we have spent all our savings on hospital bills and getting drugs from the black market.
We have no other choice but to shift it to a public hospital.
I arranged the ambulance ventilator and the brothers and cousins coordinated from the hospital.
The ambulance reached the hospital and my father was brought unconscious with weak pulses.
The nurse at the hospital gave us a slip and asked us to go to the ICU on the second floor of the first building.
We pulled to the second floor with a hand pumping mask, where an ICU nurse came to lethargic and checked the slip and casually asked me to bring my father to the next third floor of the building.
We pulled it back down and went up to the ambulance and took it to another ICU, where the doctor took ECG after taking the time you wanted and said my father had died.
I was destroyed and did not believe that my father had left me forever.
I don’t know how to accept that my father is no longer there.
He lived in the hospital for almost 50 days and in his last week, he could not breathe well.
It’s been three months now, still, I feel his presence at home everywhere and can hear it call my name.
I really miss it every day.
