Myanmar Electricity Grid loses Spark as Power Bites Power

Yangon: Myanmar Power’s company supported by the State warns his customers Friday their electricity supply can be disturbed if they continue to refuse to pay their bills as part of the boycott who have hit a junta in the cash.
Myanmar has been a chaos since the February coup which overthrew the civil leader Aung San Suu Kyi and his government, with hundreds of dead people in brutal crackdown and anti-junta strikes who paralyzed the economy.
Thousands of civil servants have run in protests, leaving schools, universities and empty hospitals and state administrative councils – because the Junta calls itself – struggle to issue a bill or collect taxes.
The Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation records a boycott on Friday’s Facebook page.
“For the benefit of the people, you are asked to work together and help regularly pay monthly fees,” he said.
It adds that, without money from its customers, production and electricity supply will be affected.
Not everyone takes seriously the warning.
“Don’t care whether you cut strength or not …
because I have already bought enough candles,” One Facebook user commented on the statement below.
“Restore the power to the selected government and it will return to normal,” another wrote.
Since the Myanmar economic coup has been free and is expected to contract by 10 percent by 2021, according to the World Bank.
Junta has confirmed the ambulita as a means to protect democracy, accused the fraud of elections in November elections, won the National League Suu Kyi for democracy.
