Myanmar Junta looks for international cooperation over the Covid crisis

Myanmar’s military ruler sought greater cooperation with the international community to load Coronavirus, the country’s media reported on Wednesday, as Southeast Asian countries struggled with waves of soaring infections.
Senior Min Aung Hlaing calls for more cooperation about prevention, control, and Covid-19 treatment, including with fellow Association members of the Southeast Asian and “friendly countries”, Myanmar’s global new lights reported.
The Junta leader said vaccination needs to be improved, through doses donated and by developing domestic production, assisted by Russia, the newspaper said, added that Myanmar would seek the release of ASEAN Covid-19 funds funds.
Myanmar recently received two million more Chinese vaccines, but was believed to be only vaccinated by around 3.2% of the population, according to Reuters trackers.
There is a desperate effort by people to find oxygen in many parts of the country.
Myanmar’s news portal now, quoting witnesses, reported that at least eight people died at Yangon’s hospital on weekends after the pipe oxygen system failed.
