Chennai: worshipers who want to pray and do pujas in Tamil in Kapaleswarar Temple in Mylapore can contact the appointed priest starting now.
At the end of this month, this facility will be available at 46 other big temples throughout the state.
The Hindu Department of Religion and Charity (HR & CE) has displayed the number of three priests to do pues in Tamil in the temple ship.
“Archanais’s performances in Tamil are practicing since 1971.
Most of the priests at the temple can do Archanais in Tamil.
Until now, one or two people approached we asked for Archanais in Tamil,” said Senior Priest 52-year-old e Venkat Subramanian.
He expects more worshipers to ask Archanais to do in Tamil now that the facility is there.
Other big temples that will soon have facilities are Sri Ranganathar Swamy Temple in Srirangam, Meenakshi Temple Amman in Madurai, Arulmigu Dhandayuthapan Temple in Puni and Peruvudaiyar Temple in Thanjavur.
SDM & CE Minister Sekar Babu, who launched the Archanai Tamil scheme on Thursday, said the department would place showers in all 46 temples with contact numbers of priests who performed pues and Archanais in Tamil.
