MySuru: The organs of a young man who declared the brain died were harvested and donated to help save the lives of five others.
Sharath Kumar, 19, who met with an accident on December 23, on his birthday, was taken to the Spandana Hospital in Mysuru.
The next day he shifted to the Apollo BGS hospital and wore live support.
Sharath who returned home to him and his two friends were broken down by a car driven by a police officer in the city of Malavalli.
On December 26, he was declared dead brain.
The hospital authorities said the test confirmed him Eligibile to donate his organs.
The hospital authority advised Sharath’s parents on organ donations and they agreed to donate their son’s organs.

Simultaneous kidneys, liver transplants and pancreas are carried out.
While one shahahh kidney was transplanted to a patient at the Apollo BGS Hospital, Mysuru, the other was transported to Inu, Bengaluru.
His heart and pancreas were donated to two patients at the Apollo BGS Hospital, Mysuru and Heart to Columbia Asia, Yeshwantpur, in Bengaluru, and the cornea was donated to MySore Eye Bank.
