MySuru: Director Joint DIC, Excise Inspector at ACB Net

MySuru: Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday said the police had trapped two top officers including the Director of the MySuru District Industry Center (DIC) while allegedly receiving money from the complainant in Mysore, Karnataka.
The MySuru ACB division responsible for SP and DYSP M Dharmendra said after complaints that government officials had demanded money for official work, Detective ACB put down the trap and arrest them.
Director of Joint Dik DK Lingaraju has allegedly demanded Rs 1.5 Lakh bribery from the complainant to release the subsidy of Rs 25 Lakh.
This complaint has taken RS 2 Crore loans from Karnataka State Finance Corporation to regulate and move small-scale industries in 2019.
The complainants have received subsidies of RS 25 Lakh from the government.
To release subsidies, the officers placed requests and allegedly took Rs 25,000 on January 28, and were trapped after receiving Rs 1.25 lakh in his office on Monday, the responsible SP said.
In another case, the Excise Inspector owned by Range-4 was stuck after he allegedly received Rs 50,000 from the complainant.
Dharmendra said Excise Inspector AR Yashavanth has demanded RS 1 Lakh bribe from the CL -2 license holder who was running a shop in Mellahalli Village in Mysore Taluk.
Excise officials cooking a story that other people look for permission to open a wine store in the village and to reject the application, the officers demand bribes from the complainant licitors, SP stated.
Initially, the officer demanded Rs 1 Lakh, he said.
As soon as the license holder filed a complaint on Monday the trap was placed in the wedding hall in Mysuru City, he stated.
Investigation in both cases is underway, the responsible SP states.
