Mysuru: Mysuru District Administration has launched an aggressive vaccination drive in villages bordering Kerala.
The idea is to protect villagers, most people who belong to tribal families, from infection because Kerala witnessed a surge in the case.
The Ministry of Health organizes special vaccination drives in these villages to ensure that nothing is left.
As planned, health workers visit deep forest areas and convince people to take Jab because they are the only way to protect them from being infected.
Drive is being carried out in border villages such as Anemala, Macchoru, Balle Haddi, Golur Haadi, Bavali, Ellahalli.
“We launched this drive on Wednesday and vaccinated 500 people on Wednesday.
Today, we provide vaccines to 800 people.
We use tribal leaders to convince the public to take Jab,” said Health Officer HD Kote Taluk (Tho) Dr.
Ravi Kumar , “There are 12 villages bordering Kerala.
Half of them are tribal hamlets.
Vaccine doubts between the tribal population has been reduced now,” he said.
“The Swami Vivekananda youth movement in Saragur also extends assistance to us in this particular trip by providing vehicles, labor, etc.,” he said.
Mysuru DC Bagadi Gautham said the reason for a special drive was a surge in case in Kerala.
