MySuru Gang-Rape Case: There is no breakthrough after 48 hours

Mysuru: Two days after a 22-year-old MBA student from Mumbai was allegedly raped by a gang and his classmates with the rival of attacked by six people, the police had not made progress in this case.
Officers on Thursday said they had not found strong instructions on the defendant.
The incident occurred in a remote stretch in Foothills Chamundi in Mysuru on Tuesday night.
Based on a little information provided by women and friends, the police also submitted a case of Dakoitas, showing the gang of six members had pampered themselves in extortion and extorting after vile actions.
Three construction workers have been detained in this relationship.
The sources of the police said the defendant, who was drunk, had made the video attack and demanded Rs 5 Lakh because he did not upload it on social media.
They took turns to rape students for two hours, police said.
“Because the place is isolated and people are afraid of leopard movements, the defendant believes their actions do not need to realize and no one will come to the woman’s rescue,” the officer said.
The victim of rape and his friend was still under physical and mental stress, and the police were waiting for their detailed statement before the sketch of the perpetrators was arranged.
“We have collected information from the female friend, but there is no breakthrough that has been made so far,” said the Director General of Police (law and orders), Ch Pratap Reddy, who headed for the investigation.
According to him, a FIR has been registered under the IPC 376D (Gang Rape) and 397 (robbery or dakoity with efforts to cause death or sadness).
The source said the criminals had hit a female friend repeatedly with small stones, slapped and attacked him.
Even though they both promised they would not tell anyone about the incident, the defendant did not budge.
The police recovered a bottle of beer and blank cans from the area.
The source said they worked on tracking calls from the tower location because they suspected the defendant spent more time there.
The National Commission for Women has taken a notification of Suo Motu about gang rape and registered a case.
Rekha Sharma, chairman, said the commission would meet with the woman on Friday.
The Minister of Main Basavaraj Bommai said the government had taken “serious” incidents and the perpetrators would soon be arrested.
“This is a big challenge for Karnataka police because officers have associated from different districts …
we have several experts on our team and I am sure this case will crack earliest,” Reddy said.
