Bengaluru: Director General of Police (DGP) Praveen Sood will oversee the investigation into the rape of a student of a student near Foothills Chamundy on the outskirts of MySuru, Head of the Head of Karnataka Basavaraj S said on Friday.
“DGP will go to Mysuru.
I have directed it to oversee the investigation and solve the earliest case,” he told reporters here.
CM said the investigation team had been formed and the probe was underway in full swing.
He added that he had told the police to send the investigation report directly to him.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Araga Jnanendra told the media that he would hold a meeting with police officers about this problem and get progress reports.
He said the investigation was ongoing and the number of crack teams had increased.
“I’m sure this case will crack,” Jnanendra said.
Medical students with his girlfriend are on their way to Bukit Chamundi on Tuesday night when at least four people sent them and raped him after attacking him.
