Nagara Sarige Hiked Bus Rates

Mangaluru: The increase in the Nagara Sarige bus rate on the suburban route by KSRTC was surprising and had annoyed some of them.
CRTC officials said the increase was made after six years as part of the state-level decision given the increase in diesel prices.
Rates for travel between Mangaluru and Mudipu have increased from Rs 19 to RS 25.
Rujing passengers that rates are changed for several suburban routes around 30%.
Some passengers have issued social media posts that question rates.
“The Mangaluru-Mudipater Bus Nagara Sarige is considered a friendly service to people and a large number of commuters depends on it.
However, the authorities have increased the rates of up to 30%,” passenger said.
“We will protest if the government does not reduce the increase,” he said.
When contacted, KSRTC Mangaloru Divisional controller SM Aruna said that it was a decision taken at the state level.
“In the entire state, the KSRTC has implemented Flexi rates, where we improve smaller rates from our maximum demand.
After the bus was introduced in 2016, we did not revise the cost.
The current fuel rate is not normal.
However, we have operated the bus .
A discussion was held at the state level to climb rates on routes where the cost was very low, “he said.
