Nagpur: A 35-year-old woman allegedly attacked with ‘acid’ by her husband, was identified as Suresh Jingre, in Rameshwari in South Nagpur on Saturday.
He rushed to the nearest hospital with several burns on his body.
The police said acid attacks would likely be a fallout of domestic disputes.
The couple has remained separated for about a month.
The police said Jingre was angry with their wife who had previously decided to separate.
Zonal DCP Noorul Hasan said substances such as acid were sent for forensic tests to ensure its contents.
“The woman is safe now and is being treated without a lot of damage to her.
The police took tight action,” he said.
