Nagpur: A retired police officer, who died on Thursday at a new era hospital due to severe head injury, serving a new lease of life to three patients in Nagpur on New Year’s Eve.
This is the donation of the 85th nagpur organ that has been carried out through the Nagpur Zonal Transplant Coordination Center (ZTCC), and 18-year-old organ contributions 2021.
Prabhakar Gopichand Samarth, 64, was found unconsciously on Jalan Ganeshpeth with a severe head injury at 28 December PM.
He was immediately accepted at the new era hospital.
Apart from all the efforts by the doctor for two days, his condition deteriorated and the doctor’s panel stated he died at 3:40 a.m.
on December 30.
After being advised for organ donations by Dr.
Ashwini Choudhary, Samarth Kanta’s wife and Brother Sudhakar agreed to contribute their organs who needed patients.
His rights were contributed to a 56-year-old man at a new era hospital, the first kidney was transplanted to a 42-year-old woman in a new era hospital while the second kidney was given to a 71-year-old man at Kingsway Hospital.
“Even though the year of Pandemi, 31 kidneys and 18 hearts were transplanted in the Nagpur zone this year through 18 donors.
Until now, 232 vital organs have been harvested and 203 transplants have been completed in the Nagpur zone,” said Dr.
Sanjay Kolte, Secretary of Nagpur ZTCC.
The new era hospital staff created an honor corridor and rented donors.
