Nagpur: Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) on Saturday morning conducted a search at the office and residence of Vishal Khatwani, the Chartered Accountant (CA) from the former Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh, in the case of money laundering.
The previous CBI also sent a notification to Deshmukh’s CA and also examined it.
Around 7 in the morning, a CBI team from New Delhi landed in Nagpur and conducted a search in Khatwani’s office and residence in Koradi Road.
Studied that the local CBI unit also helped the central team, which seized documents, hard discs, laptops etc.
Ca said to guard all financial transactions from the Deshmukh company.
The source said the central agency had also approached the tax office and law enforcement office which was looking for CA files confiscated by them.
“The CBI has now taken Khatwani to the office of its local unit for interrogation and it can also be captured in the case of money laundering,” added the sources.
