Nagpur: Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, attached to the NKP Salve Medical College in the city, is one of the leading hospitals in Central India now.
Established 32 years ago, it was the first hospital in the world that is named after the legendary singer.
“Guide me, ex-Minister of the Union NKP Salve has fraternal relations with Lata Ji.
So, he also has compassion for our family.
Didi personally have great confidence in me.
That’s why he gave us the approval to start the hospital called him,” remember the former Minister Ranjeet Deshmukh, who is chairman of the hospital and college trust.

“Currently, this is the only modern hospitals in the world of multi-specials named after Lata Mangeshkar,” Deshmukh added.
He also explains why the hospital was named Lata, affectionately called the nightingale worldwide India.
“His personality is very inspiring us.
Lata Didi’s father died in 1942 when she was just 13.
Since he is the eldest of the siblings, the whole family responsibilities fell on his shoulders.
He did this responsibility with courage and make a career for herself and family.
This is the reason why we asked him to give his name to our institution, “said Deshmukh.
In the last 32 years, the hospital has been increased to 1,130-bed capacity.
New campus in Bukit Digdoh serving the people of nearby villages and industrial areas of Central India.
During a pandemic Covid-19, this hospital save many lives.
“We will continue to work to perpetuate his memory,” said one of the hospital director and former Mla Ashish Deshmukh.
“Lata Mangeshkar Hospital will continue to provide modern services to patients in need at an affordable cost,” he said.
