Nagpur: A 40-year-old woman allegedly stabbed in public by her husband for a dispute in the city of Nagpur Maharashtra, police said on Wednesday.
The attack took place near the Ajni Ground where the victim of Babita Dubey, a nurse, had gone to attend a patient on Tuesday night, said an official.
Dubey’s husband Santosh Kale attacked him with a sharp weapon on the road, hurt him on his face and hand, before running away from the scene, he said.
The victim raised an alarm, after several people who passed until they saved him, said the official, added that the police rushed to the hospital.
The defendant, who was the husband of the two victims, was an alcoholic and was not permitted to enter his house since a week, he said.
The case below Section 307 (murder attempt) has been registered with the defendant and further investigation into progress, the official said.
