Nagpur: In the first in Maharashtra, the Nagpur City Police on Friday launched the QR (Quick Response) of the e-beat system to increase patrol, monitor police personnel who are easy and find out their real-time location.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Supplementary Police Commissioner (Crime) Sunil Fulasi and other senior police attended the launch of the system in the existing six-station jurisdiction of the existing ‘Beat Book’.
This allows real-time virtual monitoring patrolling and increasing supervision in crime-prone areas.
Initially, the system was introduced in zone – I was led by DCP Noorul Hassan at Bajaj Nagar and Pratap Nagar Police Station based on pilots.
Now, it has been introduced in the sixth of the police station including Sonegaon, MIDC, Wadi, Hingna etc.

Hassan said the waterproof QR code will be activated with a GPS-based e-beat system that will allow Beat Police personnel to update the entry smoothly about their location after scanning QR code in four designated locations (in each beats) with the help of their Android phones.
After police personnel defeat scan QR code, the police station in question, the top police and in the control room will get an update.
Officials can monitor their movements and communicate with them, he said, adding the system will produce more output and will help reduce crime.
