Nagpur: In the midst of the shadow of the Covid-19 pandemic that grew, there were no changes made in permits for educational institutions in the district, which will be reopened after the Christmas holiday on Monday.
The physical class will continue for class I to XII and undergraduate and postgraduate programs per 50:50 formula.
The government has allowed 50% of the total students to attend in-class classes, while breaks can be present in online sessions.
In the midst of increasing cases in the city, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and schools have decided to wait and watch how the Covid situation comes out.
Head of Civic Radhakrishnan B told TOI review of the permit will be held in the coming week.
Collector R Vimala ruled out the reviews about the existing permits to hold a physical class.
Last month, several educational institutions did not decide about continuing the physical class especially because of the reluctance of parents.
Some of them have postponed planning to commencement of January, but still hesitantly.
However, vaccination programs for 15 to 18 will ensure the school calls their class X students to XII.
Rachna Singh, Principal, St Ursula Girls School, said the plan to restart the physical class for STD 5 to 7 was being held.
“We will call STD X to XII in batch 100 for vaccination programs and start classes.
However, these students must come for offline activities ahead of the council exam.
To rest, we will wait and watch this week.
We have more than 4,000 female students to deal with, “he said.
AshnaAyan Tiwari, Principal, Adarsh Vidya Mandir High School & Jr College, said parents have been told and regular schools will continue with strict compliance with Covid guidelines.
“Class I to XII students will attend physical classes on alternative days,” he added.
Two CBSE schools have been closed for 10 days after several students were tested positive in December.
